Belgium banned the veil in 2011 to help people be “identified.” France also banned the veil in public around the same time to preserve their culture.  The veil is a face covering worn by women of the Islamic faith as a sign of piety to God. In some middle eastern countries, women have to wear the veil.  In the west, it is more uncommon but still occurs on occasion.  Some western countries are considering vetoing the veil, such as Belgium and France. The veil should not be banned for any reasons.

Firstly, removing the veil would result in an increase in hatred among religious groups and make the country a worse place to live.  According to a political scientist Robert Muggah, A 2018 Minority group reported bloody encounters between religious groups that have been happening in over 50 countries.  These bloody encounters include intimidation, harassment and outright warfare.  Thus, these encounters result in conflict between the groups because it provides extremists motivation for it.  People see these extremists as a necessary act to fulfill their promises to God and to protect their religion against others.  This ties back to the removal of the veils because the veil symbolizes obedience. It shows obedience because you are agreeing to serve God and that you are ready to obey him.

On the other hand, some activists may say that women are imprisoned by the veil and deprived of all social life and their true identity.  In particular, the veil opponents believe that: “Wearing the burqa is not in the Quran.” Nevertheless, this ideology is incomplete and poor; perhaps it offers a wrong ideation.  According to the Islamic feminist, Dr. Asma Lamrabet, most of the book of Holy Quran specially refers to the way women should dress and walk in public. Additionally, the veils are an important part of many cultures' identities and it adds values to individuals life’s as a way of respect to their heritage.  As claimed by the religious leader, Bruce C. Hafen, not only the veil keeps us from remembering our past but it also lets us see things that are happening in the present---for God, his angels and the activities that are hidden from our sight. This means that the veil adds values by letting people see things that are happening in the present.

Despite some people who say that veils should be banned, and that women are imprisoned by them. The reality is that veils are an important part of their culture, it adds to their happiness and it would allow them to practice their religion.
