Social media is a web‐based technology to facilitate social interaction between a large group of people through some type of network. We all have our own opinions on what’s good and what’s bad. We can share our stories and parts of our daily lives but with that can also come cyberbullying and the consequences of it. This will go through describing the differences between the good, the bad, and the questionable.

As the No.1 activity on the web, social media has become a key part of our lives. Social networks are very creative or talented and help children who want to share great experiences with others. Christine Greenhow said: "Students have shown a positive attitude towards using technology systems, editing and customizing content, and thinking about online design and layout. They also show original creative works such as poetry and movies. Share and practice using technology safely and responsibly.

But, as it is a good experience social networks also have the downside of cyberbullying. Cyberbullying is when one person bullies another person online and many can see it. This is the main reason why social media is considered bad for society, but it is not. It's all about how you deal with it. Himanshu Tyagi says, "It's a fast-moving world where you can quickly break relationships with the click of a mouse." In other words, if you don't like the story, just delete it.

Because of this students are becoming more familiar with computers and other electronic devices. (Dunn) However, there are some negative effects that come with social media. Research has shown that social networking sites can be very addictive. People who use social networking sites for their daily communication are hooked to a point that they neglect health responsibilities, especially their diet. The addictive nature of social media can lead to eating disorders, obesity, heart problems, sleep disorders, and other pertinent health issues. ("Social Networking: Advantages vs. Addictions.")

The point of this essay shows that there is nothing right or wrong when it comes to social media. It's very yin and yang, there are ups and downs in social media. You can always make yourself happy, but it never changes the opinions of others, how they see you, and how they react. Everything can react badly and nothing makes everyone happy. After all, you can do whatever your mind wants. Share it with the world or make it private. It's your life and you can do what you want with it.
