Thor: Ragnarok is a 2017 American superhero film based on the Marvel Comics character Thor, produced by Marvel Studious and distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures. It is the sequel to Thor (2011) and Thor: The Dark World (2013), and the 17th film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). The film was directed by Taika Waititi from a screenplay by Eric Pearson and the writing team of Craig Kyle and Christopher Yost, and stars Chris Hemsworth as Thor alongside Tom Hiddleston, Cate Blanchett, Idris Elba, Jeff Goldblum, Tessa Thompson, Karl Urban, Mark Ruffalo, and Anthony Hopkins. I chose to write about “Thor: Ragnarok” because I enjoyed watching this movie.

Thor finds himself in the captivity of the demon Surtur, who reveals to Thor that his father Odin is no longer in Asgard and has left his position as the rightful king of Jotunheim. He soon declares the prophecy of Ragnarok and the fall of Asgard.

When Thor arrives in Asgard, he learns that the guardian of Asgard, Heimdall, has disappeared and has been replaced. While searching for his father, he encounters his adopted brother Loki, who pretends to be Odin. After Thor exposes Loki and gets him to help find their father, their paths lead them to Doctor Stephen Strange, who helps them find Odin. After Odin’s death, they soon meet their sister and Odin and Frigga’s firstborn child, Hela, who has been imprisoned by her father, Odin.

Hela destroys Thor’s hammer and soon comes to Asgard to get what she has always wanted: power over the nine realms. On a mission to stop Hela, Thor crashes on a garbage planet and is soon sold as a gladiator to the ruler of Sakaar, Grandmaster. When Thor arrives on Sakaar and meets Grandmaster for the first time, he learns that his brother Loki has been there for quite some time. As he prepares to fight the best gladiator in all of Sakaar, he finds out that the girl who bought him as a gladiator for the Grandmaster is a Valkyrie, one of the most legendary female forces, who fought Hela long ago, and she is the only one who survived. Thor goes to the gladiator ring and finds out that he is fighting one of the Avengers and his friend, Hulk. After winning the gladiator fight against Hulk, he convinces Valkyrie, Loki, and Hulk to leave Sakaar and save Asgard. As they try to escape using one of the Grandmaster ships, Loki tries to betray Thor but is unsuccessful.

When Thor Valkyrie and Hulk arrive in Asgard, they see what has Hela done to it. After Loki arrives and he brings some guests from Saakar, they begin to fight against Hela. Heimdall, who has been hiding in the forest trying to save some Asgardians from Hela, fights alongside them.
