Schools should make people learn different world languages because of many advantages. “Over the past five years, demand for bilingual workers in the United States more than doubled. In 2010, there were roughly 240,000 job postings aimed at bilingual workers”(Reisberg).

Schools making people take different world languages can open them up to different religions and cultures. Studying different languages can help how you can see other people “having now studied four foreign languages I recognize the tight relationship between language, culture, and how we think. Cultural values, hierarchies, and traditions often play out in language.”( Riesberg). From their personal experience, they say after they learned multiple languages that it opened their mind to a lot more cultures and how you think of them. Language can also help you out at understanding traditions and having a fuller life. Learning languages can help you with understanding other traditions and cultures deeply. “communication, not only in knowing words, but in developing a deeper understanding of language generally and its relationship to culture”(Riesberg). Having learned different languages can enhance your experiences with different cultures. Learning different languages most likely can tie in with different cultures. Learning different languages can enhance and help you better understand religions and cultures.

Not learning a second language can make you miss out on opportunities. knowing multiple languages can open up opportunities for jobs, they seek people who can communicate with many customers. Employers seek bilingual workers for both low- and high-skilled positions. In “2015, 60 percent of the jobs with the highest demand for bilingual workers were open to individuals with less than a bachelor’s degree”(Reisberg). Knowing other languages will attract job employees since you can help many customers even with a language barrier. Even if you don’t have an high college degree you can still get a good-paying job just because you know another language. Getting high prestige jobs or high-paying jobs just because of your skills and knowing multiple languages is important “fastest growth in bilingual listings from 2010 to 2015 was for so-called “high prestige” jobs, a category including financial managers, editors, and industrial engineers”(Riesberg). Having a second language gives you an opportunity for jobs.

Some people may think learning another language is pointless, it isn’t. “The Growing Importance of Foreign Language Skills in the US Job Market”(Reisberg). Knowing a different language can help with getting a job and the need for people who are bilingual is rising. This is true that some people may not learn fluency with learning, but even if they don’t they could go and practice a bit more with the experience they have already. Now, this may be true, many people will learn fluently by solely paying attention in class and going through with advancements with learning the language. “Studying another language increases the effectiveness of cross-cultural communication, not only in knowing words but in developing a deeper understanding of culture”(Reisberg). Studying another language will strengthen your skills in speaking it. Learning multiple languages will help you with many opportunities.

Learning multiple languages is good for many benefits it withholds. The evidence shows how bilingual workers are more viable because they can work with many customers with different limitations such as language. More people with more experience with many languages means that anyone could move to the United States and have a translator. I completely agree that schools should make people learn multiple languages, it offers much more job offers as well as just having benefits and understanding cultures more. That being bilingual has more positive than negative effects and that it’s worth it.
