For a game that prides itself on talent and stars of their sports, they cover invents that are important to the game. So I am going to address some of the top stories over the last 100 years.

According to Bleacher-report. We will start with Football. First, The wildcat formation in the national football league with teams starting to collect duel theater offense players that can run and pass the ball this makes the defense ready for everything all the time. Which makes it harder on the defense. Second, one of the biggest moments in all the sports happened before the 1986 national football league draft when Bo Jackson ran 4.12 seconds making him the world record holder. Third in 2005 during Hurricane Katrina, some 26000 people went to the Superdome for protection. After spending 185 million dollars to repair it housed the Saints who went on to win their first Superbowl. Forth, on August 30th, 2001 the Jacksonville kicker Ashley Martin takes the field to attempt a field goal, she would go on to make this kick making her the first woman to score and play in a Ncaa American Football game. Those are some of the moments that Definition sports. But diction says something different “to wear (something) in a way that attracts attention.” This an adjective definition of the word there is another one “ to play in a happy and lively way” this is the definition that most people think of when thinking about sports.

The first sports were in Ancient Greece. These sports like running and discus throw have made it all the way to the present-day Olympics. The Evolution of sports over the years has led to active sports like American Football, Basketball, Track, and other running sports. Also inactive sports like Trapshooting.

Second, we go through invents in Baseball. Starting off in 1997 when interleague play began in Major league baseball which paid the path for some of the biggest rivalries in Major league baseball history like the Chicago Cubs and the Chicago Whites Sox, The New York Yankees, and the New York Mets. Second, in 1982, the Man of Steel Rickey Henderson stole for 130 bases in a single season he is the only person to do this. Thirdly In 1947, Jackie Robinson takes the baseball Diamond in front of 20 thousand people he became the first African American to play in the Major league baseball. Forth in 1919, Babe Ruth was traded to the New York Yankees from the Bosten Red sox. All becasue they didn’t want to double his salary.

Finally important events in basketball history. First one of the biggest things in all of the sports is when Ervin Magic Johnson came out to the public as HIV postive in 1991 he was labeled as a hero but soon after players in the league wouldn’t play with him on the court till he came to retire in 1996. Second, in October of 1993 the greatest basketball player to play the game of basketball, Michael Jordan retired from the National Basketball Association to play in Major league baseball. He would unretire from the National Basketball Association and return to his team the Chicago Bulls who would go on to win three peat the National Basketball Association championship. Third, In 1996 the Women's National Basketball Association was founded to quote “Opening doors for talented females since 1996.” Forthly in 1970 Willis Reed would go onto inspire the term “Playing hurt” when he would check into a game for the New York Knicks with a torn thigh and score a basket on the legendary Wilt “The Stilt” Chamberlain.

Those were some events that happened in big-time sports. But some things that happen within sports can have a way bigger impact on someone’s life. From the relationships that last for a lifetime like watching football on thanksgiving or Superbowl parties. Thanksgiving is the time of year when families get together to feast and watch football. In my family on Thanksgiving, it is more about watching National Football leagues game than about the food. This is in part because my dad’s favorite team is the Dallas Cowboys Who fun fact don’t even play in Dallas they play in Arlington, Texas which is right by Dallas. So we all sit down in the living room and watch the game together. This is just an example of how sports affect a family.

So you see sports can have a big affected on people.
