How many times have you seen the men in your life cry? In The speech  Gender equality is your issue too Emma Waston sheds light on her experiences as a woman facing gender inequalities and stereotypes throughout her life. Emma explains women and men should have the same rights but that can’t happen if everybody isn’t working together because gender inequalities affect everybody. The main message in Watson’s speech is that everybody needs be a part of the change for a chance of fixing gender equality and stereotypes.

“I’ve seen young men suffering from mental illness unable to ask for help in fear it would make them look less macho and “when at 14 I started being sexualized by certain elements of the press. These support the main idea by showing how these stereotypes we have kept going affects people of all ages in serious ways. these quotes on pages one and three, therefore, explain the just few times we're stereotypes come in “Women should be small and not have muscle” and the stereotype that “men should be strong and not show weakness”

Another way this connects to the main idea is in emmas speech she mentions  Hillary Clinton’s speech on women’s rights stating that “what stood out most for me was that only 30 percent of her audience we're male”. This quote on page 2  to further explains that if we want to make a change we need to make men apart and open up about their feeling because it affects them too if women had the same rights as men there would not be this stereotype that men need to be strong because they are providing for their family.

“The reality is that if we do nothing it will take 75 years, or for me to be nearly a hundred before women can expect to be paid the same as men for the same work” lastly,  this connects to my main idea because it gives us facts if we're are not making a change now we might not be able to see the change in our lifetime this quote on page 4 Emma ends off with before saying her thank opens your eyes to see the reality that if we don’t do something that all these experiences will keep happening to us and our kids and their kids.
